Welsh speaking volunteer helps Merthyr residents to get online

Seventeen year old Welsh speaking volunteer Ciaran Packham-Dawe has been supporting people from Merthyr to get online at drop-in sessions held in the town and supported by the Welsh Government’s digital inclusion project, Communities 2.0.

Inspiration, Leadership and Achievement recognised in Digital Awards. Community groups, volunteers, social enterprises and individuals have been recognised in the Communities 2.0 Celebration of Achievement Awards which were held this Thursday (Thursday 26th February). The awards were hosted by Maggie Philbin, and Lesley Griffiths AM, Minister for Communities and Tackling Poverty, presented.

The winners of Wales Council for Voluntary Action’s (WCVA) prestigious Third Sector Awards Cymru 2014 were announced last night at a gala dinner hosted by BBC Wales presenter Jason Mohammad at the Marriott Hotel, Cardiff. Run by WCVA and supported by voluntary sector services specialist Class Telecommunications, the awards had a shortlist of 19 groups from across the country.
