We are super excited to launch the W#OY design platform and shop today - starting with digitally printed leggings!
W#OY is a new, London-based online fashion company where you can buy ,design, and get made cool stuff , leggings being the first W#OY product to launch. A number of other apparel and footwear products will be released in late 2013 and throughout 2014.
W#OY products are made with a mixture of traditional craft and state of the art digital printing techniques in the UK, which allows photographic prints in a way that was previously impossible. The art and graphic embellishments on W#OY clothing are crowd-sourced and the W#OY community control which designs get made and which products get into the online shop.
Budding designers and other artistically inclined people can work with the easy-to-use W#OY online design system to upload and create their own digital artwork on 3D models. The designers can then rally up 'likes' by sharing their creations on social networks such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. The most popular designs get produced, promoted and sold on the W#OY platforms.
This unique service enables professional and amateur designers to display their artwork/designs on the products in a user-friendly and fun way. Designers are incentivized to join W#OY through the sharing of revenue and fun competitions.
W#OY focuses on the global youth market of 14 to 30 years old - primarily female - who are looking for unique products that will give them the ability to show their individualism. They are interested in all aspects of the urban lifestyle, fashion, art, music and digital media. They are style and brand conscious, have strong social media engagement and are searching for the next big thing as they take pride in being early adopters of trends. London is one of global hubs of youth culture with its vibrant music, fashion and art scene.
The company was founded in 2012 by Daniel Poole, Paul Birch and Robert Soning. They bring together their experience in technology, fashion and art with Daniel Poole overseeing the day-to-day and creative direction of the business.
