GAHCC Buys Local, Supports Local, and Awards Local
Capital of Texas Awards Will Recognize Austin’s Small Businesses

Austin, Texas (September 13, 2012) – The Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GAHCC) Capital of Texas Awards will recognize seven high-achieving,  businesseses and organizations in the Austin area that have distinguished themselves as leaders within the community and their respective industries.

Held on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel located at 6121 North IH 35 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, the luncheon’s keynote speaker will be Marc Rodriguez, chair of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Karla Leal, anchor with Telemundo, will emcee the event.

Nominees were judged on the business’ accomplishments and their contributions to the community. Business leadership, special skills, notable community contributions, and overall achievements determined who was added to the voting ballot.

“The Chamber recognizes the accomplishments that these small businesses and organizations have demonstrated in Austin,” said Andy Martinez, president/CEO, GAHCC. “The awards luncheon is just one way we show our support for all they do in our local community.”
