Nutreco, Marine Harvest, DNB, McKinsey Global Institute headline IntraFish Seafood Investment Forum

Executives from Nutreco, Marine Harvest, DNB Markets and American Seafoods, among others, will explore opportunities for investment in global seafood industry at the 2013 IntraFish Seafood Investment Forum in London, presented by IntraFish Media and DNB.

The daylong event, scheduled for Nov. 19 at the May Fair Hotel in London, will examine investment strategies in the global wild-capture and aquaculture sectors and the role of private equity in restructuring the seafood sector.

Dr. Fraser Thompson, Senior Fellow, McKinsey Global Institute, will be the keynote speaker, followed by panels on the outlook for global seafood investment opportunities in the wild and farmed seafood industries.

These panels will answer questions such as: What are the best long term positions in the farmed and wild sectors; what are the best success stories in wild-fish investments; is there a future IPO market for fisheries companies; what return on investment can aquaculture investors expect; and what are hedges against the risk of aquaculture disease and disaster?

The panels include noted industry experts such as Bernt Bodal, CEO, American Seafoods; Arne Mogster, CEO, Austevoll; Olav Holst-Dyrnes, CEO, Havfisk; Viggo Halseth, COO, Nutreco Aquaculture; Henning Beltestad, CEO, Lerøy Seafood Group; and Francisco Murillo, CBDO & CIO, Regal Springs Tilapia Group.

A third panel, led by Edward Han, managing director, Bain Capital Private Equity; Ejnar Knudsen, managing member, AGR Partners; and  Mitchell Presser, founding partner, Paine & Partners, will explore the main drivers in seafood that are compelling for private equity investors, and which companies and species hold the most investment promise.

The event also features special presentations from David Kerstens, an independent consultant at Food for Valuation and Stein Alexander Aukner, an analyst at DNB Markets.
