WhatsApp now has rolled out a new update for its Android and iOS versions which has been brought forth to improve the user experience for ‘WhatsApp Groups’ and its users and also includes the much highly wanted feature to switch to video calls during an ongoing voice call.

The WhatsApp application for Android has also been updated with a feature for group description that enables a user you add a description or a topic to a group. This will tell the participants about what this group is. The length of the group descriptions is to be no more than 512 characters long and can be viewed by going to the group info, where it can be found underneath the group photo and name. These will also be available on the chat screen as a box, tapping on which will take you to the description.

The update also rolls out a feature that lets a user search for specific participants in an existing WhatsApp Group. The feature is slated to be highly useful for those part of a big WhatsApp group. To find a participant in a WhatsApp Group, tap on Group info, scroll down to list of participants, and tap on the lens icon for search. Enter the name of the person you want to find.

It has to be noted that this feature is available in latest WhatsApp update. Since this is being rolled out in phases, it will take a few days to reach all regions. WhatsApp is also expected to bring the same feature for iOS devices soon.
