NEW YORK CITY (OCTOBER 18, 2018) – Norwegian, the World’s Best Low-Cost Long-Haul airline and Value Airline of the Year, today announced its partnership with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to offer eligible passengers expedited screening through TSA Pre✓®. Participation in this program enhances Norwegian’s award-winning travel experience as customers can now simply put in their TSA “Known Traveler Number” as they book flights on Norwegian.com/us and an indicator (TSAPRECHK, TSA PRE, or TSA Pre✓®) will appear on boarding passes. The added convenience of TSA Pre✓® includes less wait time with dedicated lanes at security checkpoints; waiving the need to remove shoes, jackets, laptops, belts and liquids. These benefits are offered at more than 200 U.S. airports, which includes all of Norwegian’s U.S. gateways.
Norwegian’s U.S. operations has grown exponentially since first introduced in 2013. Today the airline has 15 gateways in major cities including New York, Los Angeles, Fort Lauderdale, Chicago, Boston and Orlando – offering more nonstop routes to Europe than any other foreign airline.
As the fastest-growing international airline in the U.S., Norwegian offers 57 nonstop routes to Europe and the French Caribbean with one of the youngest fleets in the industry. A mark of this rapid growth, the airline has become the largest foreign airline to serve New York City with 1.67 million passengers flying to and from Europe according to the most recent traffic reports by Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
To be eligible for TSA Pre✓®, U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and lawful permanent residents of the U.S. can apply for a cost of $85 for five years, or $17 per year through the application program. Additionally, Norwegian passengers can take advantage of U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Trusted Traveler program, Global Entry for expedited entry to the U.S.
