Italian-American actress Theresa Meeker Pickett is profiled in the 2012, Vol. 7 No. 4 edition of Student Filmmakers Magazine. This interview shows the challenges as well as enjoyment she experienced when she worked on her husband director Ryan Pickett's multiple award winning six-minute short film Look, which she had a lead role in and associate produced. Look has won awards in the Accolade Competition, Best Shorts Competition, California Film Awards, Honolulu Film Awards, and two awards at the Los Angeles Movie Awards. Critic Matthew Saliba of Rogue Cinema calls Theresa Pickett's character in Look a "ravishing beauty," and he says that "Actresses are a dime a dozen with very few of them having the chops and Old Hollywood flavor to truly catapult them into the mainstream or at least into our mind's eye, long after we've seen them perform. Thankfully, that is not the case with Theresa Meeker." Theresa Pickett plays a model in dream-inspired film Look, and her character helps show how the pursuit of beauty can lead to a devastating emptiness.
Theresa Pickett earned her BA in history at Flagler College of St. Augustine, Florida, and she is currently in her last semester working on her M.Ed along with elementary education certification at Vanderbilt University. After spending two years in undergrad, Theresa Pickett began working as a model and actress as well as learning production. She appeared in several commercials, short and feature films, and print work.
