Bike the Coast - Taste the Coast introduces North County Transit District as event sponsor

Press Release   •   Nov 05, 2010 07:49 EDT

Bike the Coast - Taste the Coast presented by Night&Day Entertainment Guide, a unique cycling event/food and entertainment festival that takes place Saturday, Nov. 6, is pleased to introduce the North County Transit District (NCTD) as an event sponsor.

“The North County Transit District is an essential component of our region,” said event organizer Jim Curl. “For residents of Oceanside -- host city for Bike the Coast – Taste the Coast -- NCTD is a vital link to other communities in North County.”

"It makes perfect sense for us to sponsor this outstanding event surrounding an alternative mode of transportation," said Emily Peters, NCTD Marketing Representative. "We share the same goal of encouraging people to reconsider driving their cars, which can reduce emissions and traffic congestion in North County. Bike the Coast - Taste the Coast is an ideal way to encourage and celebrate this endeavor."

Bike the Coast - Taste the Coast begins at 7:00 a.m. Saturday with the opening of the 50-mile course at the Oceanside Pier.  The “Taste” element of the event – featuring great food, music, exhibitor booths and a beer garden on the beach -- is open to public from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. under the pier. Produced by Event Media, Inc., the event has partnerships with the Oceanside Bicycle Committee, Main Street Oceanside and the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce. These groups, along with the Oceanside Visitors Bureau, are bringing together the cycling and business communities in Oceanside to promote bicycling and offer a fun day at the Oceanside Pier.
