Originally released in 2011, I Want To Be A Soldier is the story of Alex, an average eight-year old kid who seems to grow a morbid fascination for images portraying violence. The film is an examination of the effects on children’s minds from the violence found in modern entertainment.
"Cuca Canals and Christian Molina came up with the idea of "I Want To Be A Soldier" while reading a newspaper headline that stated: By the time a child turns 18, if parent´s don’t prevent it, he or she will have seen more than 40.000 murders and 200.000 acts of violence on Internet, TV, newspapers etc.." Raul Montilla - La Vanguardia
Soldier was well received internationally, earning nominations from the Spanish Actors Union, the Gaudi Awards, and receiving an award at the Rome Film Fest for director Christian Molina’s writing.
