Houston Methodist, comprising seven hospitals and other health care service locations, has 1,119 licensed beds, 67 operating rooms, and more than 6,000 employees, and was ranked the No. 1 Hospital in Texas, according toU.S. News & World Report. The DT315BT-MD, with 9.7” capacitive touch screen and high performance Intel® Celeron® dual-core processor, brings streamlined operations to their healthcare and management applications.

The DT315 offers fully integrated data-capture options for reliable processing; the magnetic stripe reader (MSR) provides security access for staff and patient ID cards, and the optional back camera can give visual status updates. The 2D barcode scanner improves inventory management and can scan ID tags for patients and medicines. The DT315 integrates a smart card reader into the slim, durable design, so that staff and patient ID cards can be quickly read and verified, and support for Trusted Processing Module (TPM) encryption adds another level of security. With support for Microsoft® Windows® 7 Professional, Embedded 8 Standard or 8.1 Pro Industry operating systems, the DT315 is flexible to integrate with existing third-party applications.

The DT315 offers built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connection, and an option for WWAN/GPS, as well as IP52 front-panel rating to protect from water and dust, offering real-time, seamless information capture and transmission for improved operations. The DT315 can operate continuously with optional hot-swappable batteries making it a rugged tablet that can truly go anywhere, and proving an effective tool to manage information and optimize staff workflow, whether in the lobby, patient room, or on an emergency vehicle.
