Fluoroantimonic acid is used in chemical engineering and organic chemistry to protonate organic compounds, regardless of their solvent. Flouorosulfonic acid is a superacid and is corrosive to metals and to tissue. Flouorosulfonic acid is used as a catalyst in organic synthesis, in electroplating, and as a fluorinating agent.
