The fifth annual TAG Excalibur Awards program recognized the many companies throughout Georgia that are classified as “tech-enabled” -- buyers of technology not producers – and rely on the purchased technology to excel in their respective business space. This year’s finalist companies in the small, medium, large, education and creative categories included Cypress Communications, Darton College, TSYS, Morris Brandon Elementary, North Gwinnett High School, bigWebApps, Knowledge Development Centers, Unicoi Systems, Buckhead Church, Nobel Investment Group, IHG, and Southern Company. Who won? Watch the event videos on www.TAGtvOnline.com to find out!
Also available for on-demand viewing is the keynote of Jim Balsillie, co-CEO at Research In Motion (RIM), maker of the world renowned BlackBerry wireless solution, who delivered a speech entitled “Innovation: It’s all in your hands.” Balsillie is responsible at RIM for driving corporate strategy, business development, marketing, sales and finance.
For the first time, TAG extended an outreach to a city in Georgia in celebration of the Excalibur Awards. The Valdosta Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce held a simultaneous event to congratulate the finalists and winners. Considered a logistical event success, next year TAG will outreach to a number of other communities.
