Jun 16, 2010 10:40 EDT The objective of this application note was to evaluate newly developed therapeutic antibodies in a biologically relevant context (cells) in order to detect failing candidates at an earlier stage. Among other things, it was found that real-time screening of drug candidates in a synthetic and in a cellular context together provides highly informative and biologically relevant data.
Jun 23, 2010 10:54 EDT The objective of this application note was to determine the binding properties of the lectin ConA towards human epidermoid carcinoma cells. Among other things it was found that a kinetic approach may be used to determine the apparent affinity and rate constants of lectin-cell glycan interactions, providing a greater understanding of the mechanism involved in the lectin recognition of cancer cells.
