Avinode’s Online Marketplace Supports the Growth of Asian CharterFeb 29, 2012 04:50 EST
February 6, 2012, Gothenburg, Sweden – Avinode is bringing its online booking platform for private jets to ABACE 2012. The Avinode marketplace has experienced a rapid increase in popularity in the Asian market as many of the largest operators in the region have signed on to market their fleets in the world’s largest marketplace for air charter. Most recently Korean national operator, Korean Air, placed a number of its business jets in the system joining the likes of Hong Kong Jet, Asia Jet, Deer Jet, and First Mandarin.
“We are pleased to have just joined Avinode, a growing, global community of business jets online,” says CS Choi, General Manager of the Business Jet Division at Korean Air. “We look forward to incredible rewards and benefits by using this network.”
Avinode’s marketplace has been well received in the Asian market, where the popularity of charter jets is on the rise, but capacity is still relatively low. Bringing the Marketplace technology to ABACE will make more operators and brokers in the region aware of the benefits of using this global booking system for their charter sales.
“Avinode technology is making positive strides even at an early stage of market development here in Asia” says Mike Walsh, CEO of Asia Jet. “It works on two levels; it exposes Asia Jet and other operators’ fleets to the industry and also allows us to source for our Asian clients when they require regional lift in the rest of world for trips.“
With Asia quickly emerging as one of the markets to watch in business aviation this is a critical time to a build a framework within which the industry can develop efficiently. Avinode aims to provide a platform for this growth.
“From our experience in other markets, we know that charter supply and demand lag behind the delivery of business jets by about 2-3 years, as owner usage changes and domestic demand grows,” says Oliver King, Managing Director of the Avinode Marketplace. “By adopting the most modern marketplace platform in the industry at this early stage of development, the Asian charter industry will be able to move forward quickly and stay ahead of the curve.”
