Navy NAVFAC Public Works Selects DT Research's DT311H Rugged Tablet

DT Research™, Inc., an industry leader in the development of information appliances for vertical markets, recently announced the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) has selected the DT311H rugged tablet to support their operations.

The NAVFAC provides facilities engineering support, such as facilities acquisition, installation engineering/support and Seabee/contingency engineering services, to the Navy, Marine Corps and other Department of Defense and federal agencies. They chose the DT311H rugged tablet to streamline operations and provide a reliable computing tool for staff located in ship yards, warehouses, and other locations.

The built-in smart card reader can provide security access for staff ID cards, and the 5 megapixel back camera with LED flash can give visual project updates. With Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, as well as optional 4G Mobile broadband connection, this robust tablet offers real-time, seamless information capture and transmission for improved workflow. The DT311H offers ratings for water and dust resistance (IP65), shock and vibration protection (MIL-STD-810G), EMI and EMC tolerance (MIL-STD-461F), and is also HERO (Hazard of Electromagnetic Radiation to Ordnance) certified and NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) compliant.

The DT311H rugged tablet operates with Microsoft® Windows® 7 Professional or Windows® 8.1 Pro Industry making it flexible to integrate with existing applications, and Trusted Processing Module (TPM) encryption for security support. As with most DT Research Rugged Tablets, the DT311H offers hot-swappable batteries for continuous operation, enabling real-time project efficiency between staff in the field and in the office, and wide temperature range (-4°F to 140°F), the DT311H provides reliable operation in harsh, mission-critical environments.
