Russia provides an opportunity to India to access oil-&-gas-rich northern sea route

Russian President Vladimir Putin made an announcement on Friday in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing a Russia- India business summit.

Russia has control and ownership over major part of Arctic region and offers an opportunity to India to access the Northern Sea Route that connects Europe with the Pacific Rim including additional supplies of natural gas and joint development of gas fields to meet its increasing energy needs in the future.

Russia expects Indian partners to join in the work in the Artic. The Moscow, affirms that access to this route will offer good opportunities and returns in the decades ahead. Russia is currently building 8-nuclear powered fleet that will steadily put inot operations which will ensure reliable LNG supplies to Indian as well as World Market.
