An international dating website that aims to bring together kindred spirits with a mutual love of sports and fitness has now launched a site exclusively for singletons in the UK.

Fitness Date Club is an increasingly popular dating community for health-minded singles but until now most of it’s members have been part of one international site with members living in the UK, USA, Germany, Sweden and South Africa.

However, the site’s founder, Martin Dagger, a former full-time musician from Sweden, believes there is a big enough market in the UK to have a second My Fitness Date Club exclusively for British singletons.

“One reason we want to start in the UK is that I think there is a good market for sporty people who are interested in fitness and dating,” Martin told London Beauty Hub, “I also believe that there are many singles in London who are interested in meeting someone with the same interest.”

The site encourages it’s members to use gyms, fitness centres or sports clubs as a platform for dating activities, so that people can get fit, enjoy their hobbies and get to know one another at the same time. As well as focusing on dating, the site also strives to promote healthy living in all aspects of life and has recently added a blog full of articles on nutrition, yoga, running, bodybuilding, cycling and training tips.

“If you are focused on living an active, healthy life, what better way is there than to have a significant other who feels the same way,” Martin said.
