Multicultural Career Expo Now in its Sixth Year
Austin Hispanic Chamber Partners with African American and Asian Chambers

WHAT: The Career and Opportunities Expo gives minority job seekers an opportunity to connect with some of Austin’s biggest employers. Job seekers will have the chance to meet with more than 50 employers, including Facebook, Art Institute of Austin, Texas Department of Criminal Justice and multiple departments within the City of Austin. Employers will have the advantage of meeting with, and interviewing, a diverse group of potential candidates. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 8:30 am to kick-off the Expo. Additionally, classes will be offered to job seekers in topics such as Careers in International Trade, Interview Skill Development and Job Searching Techniques.

WHO: The Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GAHCC), Greater Austin Asian American Chamber of Commerce (GAACC), and Capital City African American Chamber of Commerce (CCAACC) have teamed up with the support of the City of Austin Economic Growth and Redevelopment Services Office to bring Central Texans the 6th Annual Career & Opportunities Expo.

WHEN: Thursday, August 9, 2012.
Registration begins at 8:00 am, and the event runs through to 2:00 pm.
Attendance is free and open to the public.

WHERE: Holiday Inn Midtown, 6000 Middle Fiskville Road, Austin.

WHY: In an effort to address the aspect of economic development, the Multi-Ethnic Chamber Alliance, in partnership with the City of Austin, will host the job fair to offer qualified minority and women-owned businesses the opportunity to network with Austin based employers.
