Press release -

“Riddick: The Merc Files” will be available on iOS through the Apple App Store

Los Angeles, CA – September 16, 2013 - The original Designer of "Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay" and team members behind "Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena" are back, and in collaboration with actor/producer/director Vin Diesel and his Tigon Studios as they announce the release of "Riddick: The Merc Files”, the first new installment in the ongoing Riddick saga.

"Riddick: The Merc Files" is a touch-based stealth action game for mobile devices, designed to give a high quality mobile game play experience. Set in the Riddick universe, closely tied to the latest movie "Riddick: Rule the Dark.” The game allows the player to become Riddick, the iconic anti-hero, and avoid the mercenaries that hunt you across the stars. Escape them, trick them, or eliminate them. It's your choice.

“We are excited to be working with some of the original key Starbreeze team members behind previous Riddick games in order to expand the canon of the Riddick universe. The team has captured the essence of the franchise, and applied an originality of design to the mobile platforms” said Cos Lazouras of Tigon Studios

The game features situation-based game play, where you'll need to quickly adjust to every possible scenario.
If you are careless, mercs may find the bodies you leave behind and become alerted to your presence. If they do, sometimes an all-out attack may become necessary. The controls are designed specifically for a mobile format. You control Riddick with two fingers on one hand, making the game accessible without losing any game play depth.

“To tonally match the latest Riddick movie, the mobile platforms are perfect for the game play experience we wanted to deliver, which is one of Stealth-Action combined with an ‘all hell breaks loose’ shooter. The game will evolve and expand through updates to provide an intensive layered experience to the player” said Jens Larsson, Creative Director of Gaming Corps and Lead Designer on Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay.

New content packs are to be released regularly; including new levels and brand new core features like traps and lures for Riddick to control his environment. The game will keep expanding and reinventing itself to stay fresh and interesting over time.
