Apps for Schools Going Digital

App development initiative Happi Papi today announces the release of “Happi Spells” for iPhone and iPad. The game is a sequal to “Happi Reads” which has topped the lists in several countries throughout the summer. “Happi Spells” helps your child practice his/her spelling in a fun and innovative way.

The object of the game is to complete mini crossword puzzles by dragging letter tiles to their correct position in the puzzle. “Happi Spells” has hours of learning fun with more than 300 words in 48 crossword puzzles to challenge kids age 4-8. The game also has a “hint mode” where the correct answer is shown in the background of the puzzle enabling younger siblings to join in the fun as well.

- Our first game “Happi Reads” has quickly become a favorite among schools who use iPads in the classroom. “Happi Spells” is even more of a school age type of app than its predecessor. With its play and learn approach I have a feeling that this app will also be a hit with schools and preschools says Patrick Larson, co-founder of Happi Papi.

- In addition to being a fun and educating experience it is very important to us that all our games are free from ads, links and in-app purchases, continues Patrick Larson. Parents should always feel secure in giving one of our games to their children.

The game idea for “Happi Spells” comes from disapointed parent Gustaf Lorentz who had a hard time finding quality play and learn apps for the family’s new iPad. Instead of settling for sub par apps or apps full of ads, Gustaf turned to Happi Papi with his idea.

- Our daughter wanted a fun way to practice her spelling and she liked playing with our iPad. I suggested a crossword app for kids and she liked the idea. However, we couldn’t find such an app on the App Store and thus the idea for “Happi Spells” was born concludes Gustaf Lorentz.
