Press release -

Former CEO of Axis, Semmy Rülf, appointed chairman of the board at Incentive – with full focus on the US market for social intranet software

"Incentive is probably the most exciting startup I’ve run into in a while and has huge potential. I will engage in a few interesting projects with focus on internationalization and the development of organization in regards to sales and distribution. Together with founder and CEO, Rickard Hansson, we will make sure Incentive will become another Swedish hit – much like Qliktech has become."

Incentive is a Swedish server software with which smaller companies and organizations create their own social intranet or network, your own internal Wikipedia, LinkedIn or Facebook – but only for you and your co-workers.

With Incentive, every coworker saves several working hours per week by making internal communication direct and immediate, by storing all knowledge in a natural and central repository – and by eliminating the internal floods of e-mail that many companies today suffer greatly from.

Semmy Rülf enters the board of Mindroute Incentive AB as of today and the company will raise capital to continue its penetration of the US market, which was initiated earlier this year through a new office in Los Angeles.

Semmy Rülf’s track record includes the CEO position at Axis Communications, one of the world’s leading experts in network video. For nearly ten years he also built Jolife, a med-tech company that develops and markets LUCAS – an automatic chest compression system for effective CPR – which was later sold to American world leader in med-tech, Medtronic. Semmy Rülf was also a member of the board for the Business Intelligence-expert, Qliktech, during the early years when capital raising and US sales were in focus.

- Incentive is probably the most exciting startup I’ve run into in a while and has huge potential. I will engage in a few interesting projects with focus on internationalization and the development of organization in regards to sales and distribution. Together with founder and CEO, Rickard Hansson, we will make sure Incentive will become another Swedish hit – much like Qliktech has become, says Semmy Rülf.

Rickard Hansson is a serial entrepreneur and founder of Incentive. He had early success in 2002 with the popular CMS, lemoon®, which he developed and distributed mainly in Europe – and eventually sold to publicly listed Formpipe Software AB earlier this year. Incentive derives from a server software he began building as early as 2006 and which he has whole-heartedly focused on since last year.

- We are facing a new round of financing and it’s good to have an experienced and proficient chairman on site, who has been doing this many times before and has a large network – but first and foremost has a profound understanding and appreciates what we are trying to do here, says Rickard Hansson, CEO and founder of Incentive.

Earlier in June, Incentive opened office in Los Angeles. The US is the prime market for Incentive, which primarily targets small and medium sized companies that want to collaborate more efficiently but are reluctant to leave all business critical data to a third party without control – which is the case in most social intranets that rely on solutions like software-as-a-service.

- Incentive is meant to be installed behind your own firewall on your own servers, which gives you more control of your own data and over your own privacy policies. You are of course free to install Incentive as a cloud solution on a hosting partner’s servers – our customers can choose what they want to do, which is not the case with those services that just offer you a login page, says Rickard Hansson.

The US office in Los Angeles will hire an additional number of sales representatives during Q1 2014. The intention is that the US office will be as large as the development HQ in Sweden, which today consists of ten people.

Later this winter, Incentive will release its next version – called Incentive 3.
