Additional information regarding the Nobel Day, December 10

With regards to the passing of Nelson Mandela on December 5, the Nobel Week began with a moment of silence, observed together with the Nobel Laureates at the Nobel Museum in Stockholm on December 6.

The official memorial ceremony for Nelson Mandela, to be held in Johannesburg on December 10, means certain changes in the attendance of guests at the Nobel Day in Stockholm. H.K.H. Crown Princess Victoria and Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt, who are usually seated at table of honour at the Nobel Banquet, will not participate in the Nobel Day.

As previously announced by the Royal Court, H.R.H. Princess Madeleine will not be attending the Nobel Day events.

The seating arrangement at the table of honour has consequently been revised:

Deputy Prime Minister Jan Björklund will be placed at the seat of Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt; Princess Christina Mrs Magnuson will be placed at the seat of H.R.H. Crown Princess Victoria’s; Lu Chen, the spouse of the Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine Thomas Südhof, will be placed where H.R.H. Princess Madeleine would have been sitting.

As a result of these changes, two seats at the bottom of the main table have been removed.

Kompletterande information angående Nobeldagen den 10 december

Med anledning av Nelson Mandelas bortgång den 5 december inleddes Nobelveckan med en tyst minut tillsammans med årets Nobelpristagare på Nobelmuseet den 6 december.

Den officiella minnesceremoni för Nelson Mandela, som äger rum i Johannesburg den 10 december, innebär vissa förändringar rörande vilka gäster som medverkar under Nobeldagen i Stockholm. H.K.H. Kronprinsessan Victoria och statsminister Fredrik Reinfeldt, som vanligtvis är placerade vid honnörsbordet på Nobelbanketten, kommer inte att närvara under Nobeldagen.

Som Hovet tidigare meddelat medverkar inte heller H.K.H. Prinsessan Madeleine under Nobeldagen.

Vid honnörsbordet på Nobelbanketten placeras vice statsminister Jan Björklund på den plats där statsminister Fredrik Reinfeldt var placerad.

Prinsessan Christina Fru Magnuson placeras på H.K.H. Kronprinsessan Victorias plats vid honnörsbordet. På den plats mellan två av årets Nobelpristagare där H.K.H. Prinsessan Madeleine skulle ha placerats sitter Lu Chen som är respektive till årets Nobelpristagare i fysiologi eller medicin Tomas C. Südhof. 

Med anledning av dessa förändringar har också två platser längst ner på honnörsbordet tagits bort.
