Mr. Ekström has many years of experience in the biotech tools industry, including 18 years with Pharmacia Biotech (now GE Healthcare) in leading R&D positions, of which 5 years as Director of Exploratory Research. In this position, he was responsible for R&D projects that subsequently led to two spin-out companies, Gyros AB and Åmic AB. In 1997, he participated in the foundation of Pyrosequencing AB (now Biotage AB), joining the company as Executive Vice President and CTO. In 2000 the company went public. In 2003 he founded Becan, a technology and management consulting company. In 2004 he became a co-founder of Olink AB and was appointed CEO of the company. Mr Ekström has published 6 scientific papers and contributed 8 patents and patent applications. Mr. Ekström holds an MSc in Physical Biochemistry from The Institute of Technology, Lund, Sweden.
