Mar 24, 2011 04:00 EDT
Olink Bioscience has signed a distributorship agreement with Sapphire Bioscience for the distribution of the Duolink® product line in Australia and New Zealand.
“Sapphire Bioscience is a well established company with a strong presence in the Life Sciences market in Australia & New Zealand. With its strive to represent companies focused on cutting edge research, Sapphire Bioscience is a natural partner for us” says Peter Karlberg, Director of Sales and Marketing at Olink Bioscience.
“We are very pleased with the collaboration with Olink and the opportunity to offer the Duolink product line. Duolink is an enabling and innovative tool for studying e.g. cell signaling or transduction pathways and fits very well with our goal to provide first class reagents to the research community in Australia & New Zealand” says Sue Goodman, Business Manager at Sapphire Bioscience.
The Duolink product line is based on Olink Bioscience’s proprietary in situ PLA® a proximity ligation assay technology that extends the capabilities of traditional protein techniques. These capabilities include direct detection of proteins, protein interactions and modifications with unparalleled specificity and sensitivity. Target proteins are detected with single molecule resolution, allowing digital quantification and information about the exact localization of the target. Furthermore, the proteins can be studied at normal expression levels in fixed cells and tissue sections.
About Olink Bioscience
Olink Bioscience develops cutting-edge technologies for biomolecular analysis for use in research and diagnostics. These novel tools for protein detection and nucleic acid analyses enable researchers to see further into biology revealing new insights into basic science, drug development, and diagnostics. The products, which are based on a strong intellectual property portfolio, are sold by Olink Bioscience and a global network of distributors. The company’s proprietary Duolink® product line enables researchers to visualize and accurately quantify individual proteins, their interactions and modifications, in unmodified cells and tissues. Such information is crucial to help elucidate disease mechanisms, leading to the development of novel diagnostics, therapeutics, and new drug targets. Olink’s molecular technologies are also commercialized through out-licensing to industry leading partners such as Affymetrix, Life Technologies, and through the spin-out companies Halo Genomics and Qlinea. Olink Bioscience was founded in 2004 and is headquartered in Uppsala, Sweden.
Duolink is intended for research use only. Duolink is not for use in human diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
