HELSINKI – (November 8, 2012) – Ovelin ltd. announced today the release of GuitarTuna, a highly advanced guitar tuning application for mobile (iOS, Android), Mac and PC devices. The application functions through the device microphone and features a clear, fast and accurate visual feedback for precise and intuitive guitar tuning.

GuitarTuna is powered by leading audio signal-processing technology featured in WildChords, the popular and award-winning guitar learning application launched by the company previously in 2011.

”The user feedback from WildChords was overwhelmingly positive on the guitar tuner part of the game. We at Ovelin want to change the way people learn to play musical instruments,” said Mikko Kaipainen, the COO and co-founder of Ovelin. ”We thought it only appropriate to make tuning also a bit more exciting as an experience.”

The released application has advanced features, such as automatic tuning mode, left-handed tuning (for the Jimi Hendrixes out there) and a robust background-noise compensation capability. The design of the application makes it intuitive, easy and powerful to use.

GuitarTuna is available free on iOS, Android, Mac and PC.
