Oct 27, 2011 16:00 EDT DuoCort AB has reached an agreement with pharmaceuticals company ViroPharma Incorporated to sell its subsidiary DuoCort Pharma AB with Plenadren®, a new treatment for adrenal insufficiency, also known as Addison’s disease. Plenadren was developed in house by DuoCort Pharma AB. The total value of the deal is over SEK 1 billion.

New discovery could treat serious eye infection

Mar 02, 2011 00:30 EST A new molecule has been discovered by virus researchers at Umeå University. This important discovery was recently published in the well respected journal Nature Medicine. The molecule is essential to the virus that causes the serious eye disease epidemic keratoconjunctivitis (EKC). Currently, there is no approved therapy to treat this highly contagious eye infection.
