Tønsberg situated game developer Rock Pocket Games is thriving
The efficient and enthusiastic Studio has developed no less than 14 game titles in the last two years: Advergames for big Norwegian brands such as Mr. Melk Wintergames, Senkveld: Spark meg bak or the quirky platformer Monster Mania are part of the versatile portfolio as well as more children focused games based on franchises such as Vennebyen/City of Friends and Elleville Elfrid/Ella Bella Bingo but also in-house IPs with “The Package” and “Laser Puzzle”.
Rock Pocket Games is now working on strengthening its reputation as an experienced and specialized game developer with officially adding console development to their expertise, being registered as developer for all major gaming platforms.
To take full advantage of that fact, the team recently also added programming Veteran Arnleif Mydland to its ranks. Arnleif has worked under Funcom on Dreamfall, Anarchy Online, Age of Conan and The Secret World and for Ravn Studio on Pippi Longstocking, Kaptain Sabeltann and Vinter i Blafjell and is adding his expertise to Rock Pocket Game’s own Oliver&Spike: Dimension Jumper IP.
With a team that holds now 10 members, of which 8 are local, it’s only logical that the game developer moved into new and bigger offices within Tønsberg.
To reflect the enthusiasm and focus on mobile advergames as well as console/pc/mac games respectively, the virtual home of the studio has also gotten a complete overhaul.
The studio is currently working on three in house projects as well as an exciting and big client project the team hopes to reveal in the near future, with several more games for various different platforms in the pipeline.
Rock Pocket Games will also be showcasing their latest projects in development at the Norwegian SpillExpo in Lillestrøm from the 30st of November to 2nd of December 2012 together with other Norwegian indie developers.
