Swedish growth company Scalado announces collaboration with Qualcomm Incorporated

Scalado continues its North American-focused expansion through its agreement with Qualcomm. Scalado’s imaging technology is already embedded in over half a billion mobile phones. By working with Qualcomm, new imaging capabilities are possible by taking advantage of dedicated multimedia accelerators found in the latest generation of Qualcomm chipsets. The combination of Scalado and Qualcomm imaging technologies delivers a significantly improved imaging experience on popular smartphones.

SmartPhone manufacturers who are existing Scalado and Qualcomm partners are the potential beneficiaries of this collaboration, to deliver imaging experiences such as Zero Shutter Lag and TimeWarp. Mobile imaging trends are pointing towards 8M-12 megapixel imagers in high volume smartphones, and this requires smarter, more powerful technology to capture, process and edit hundreds of high resolution images with gorgeous user interfaces, imperceptible latency and reasonable memory footprint.
