Nov 18, 2010 04:36 EST SEKAB E-Technology and Taurus Energy have successfully carried out a three-week long industrial demo scale evaluation of Taurus Energy's yeast. The yeast has been specially developed, and, in contrast to ordinary yeast, it can ferment pentose as well as hexose. It is a crucial step on the way towards commercialising a process for producing ethanol from cellulose-based raw materials.

Moreover, by using SEKAB’s premium product made from second-generation ethanol, a byproduct from existing production, Kyl & Frysexpressen achieves maximal reduction of carbon emissions.
