The Theme

Naturally, incorporating the color green is a must. What else? Depending on your heritage, either bust out your Irish roots with common Irish phrases, or channel your inner Irishman, or Irishwoman with popular Irish lingo. It's always a safe bet to incorporate shamrocks, the Irish flag, a pint of Guinness or Irish Whiskey (age appropriate), Leprechauns, pot-of-gold, harps, Leprechaun hats and belt buckles, castles, and even the Blarney Stone (a representation). Have fun with this theme!

Family Friendly

Building a scavenger hunt for everyone in the family, involving the children and even the family dog, is a perfect idea for a family friendly evening together. Don't stop at your inner circle! Invite other families to join the adventure. The children and adults will appreciate the social interaction and a little healthy competition.

Perhaps, set the stage with Leprechaun footprints leading to the first clue. You may want to use this theme throughout the scavenger hunt, keeping the magic alive. Use flour to outline small footprints to specific locations of the home or designated area. If you're really ambitious, use glow-in-the-dark window paint (used during Halloween) to create the footprints and tackle the scavenger hunt in the dark, or with black lights or flashlights.

Teenagers

Teenagers will equally love the idea of solving riddles and rhymes, even with the glow-in-the-dark paint idea from above. Only add an element of social media and more detailed clues and silly challenges to accomplish along the way leading them toward the pot-of-gold at the end of the rainbow.

Some teens are more introverts while others are extroverts, know your audience and work with the crowd addressing their strengths, weaknesses and interests.

Purchase coin chocolates, chocolate disks wrapped in gold foil to resemble gold. Have the kids collect them during the scavenger hunt, or give away the pot-of-gold upon completion of the game. It's a great idea to give special treats or prizes for good deeds or special team building actions, or for those individuals who go above and beyond in team spirit.

Adults 21+
