Impala SS Convertible:

This Impala SS Convertible was one of the longest and most revered GM cars from the early 1960s. Its styling shows a period of transition for all car styling, with some blocky features like JFK’s 1961 Lincoln Continental but also the wide and flat grille from years later for most cars.

The biggest engine you could get in 1958 was a 348 cubic inch V8, featuring three 2-barrel carburetors. The uniquely shaped valve covers make it easy to spot in the engine bay and the trio of carburetors hides neatly under a large, round air cleaner. It still generates electricity with a generator and it's fitted with a reproduction Delco tar top battery, so they obviously cared about making it look right as well as run properly.

Released in February 1969, Plymouth offered their potent 440 'Six Pack' engine in the Road Runner with a package called A12.

The Roadrunner was not fragile. Unlike some sports cars (such as the Corvette), it was built for serious street work, which might be why so many have survived. The Roadrunner was reportedly a favorite of moon shiners, faster than almost any police car and tough enough to take practically any bump, with good ground clearance to boot.
