XXL Cloud statement on ECJ ruling related to data transfer from EU Customers to the USA

Related to the ruling of the European Court of Justice (ECJ) from October 6^th 2015 related to personal data transfer and storage of personal information in the USA:

In a Press Release late Wednesday Evening XXL Cloud announced: “Personal Data of all XXL Box Customers residing in the European Union is stored in our Datacentre in Amsterdam. XXL Cloud, Inc. has never transferred personal data to the US, nor ever stored any personal user data on servers in the United States of America.“
XXL Cloud’s policy is data security and privacy, and we are driven by our firm belief that your data is yours and not ours. We have never been asked by a law enforcement agency to unlock a user’s account, which would be pointless anyway as all information in our system is encrypted -with private keys and passwords held only by the users themselves.

After the initial Press Release XXL Cloud’s CEO Andreas Maier stated: “XXL Cloud and XXL Box is all about privacy and protecting our users' data. It was our intent from the start to protect our users from being spied on. We are Europeans by heart, and therefore our internal policy is stronger than any court ruling or law could ever be. We made it our destiny to cater top security to our customers by providing tools that are not breakable, not by external hackers - not even by us internally. Not even our employees can see the plaintext data of our users' data stored in the cloud.”
