Nordic Life Science Days - Successful international life science business meeting in the Nordic countries

Press Release   •   Nov 05, 2013 04:54 EST

Nordic Life Science Days, the first international life science business-, invest- and network meeting with a Nordic focus has been a success.

With 647 registered participants from 350 companies from 20 countries it is a large truly international meeting with an international delegate rate of 43.7 %. According to the report from the partnering provider, EBD, the rate”is higher than most established events (typically 25%) and is probably due to the high number of international visitors and general high quality of delegates”.

The business focus is significant. Of the 647 delegates, 562 signed up for the one-to-one meeting scheduling program which resulted in more than 3500 meeting requests. Thousand scheduled meetings took place, and further network possibilities in the exhibition area, presenting companies podiums and last, but not least, the knowledge intake at the nine sessions on various topics such as fundraising, investor pitches and collaborative business models.

-  The positive comments from participants are overwhelming, says conference director Olivier Duchamp, SwedenBIO. As a result of this first meeting, the acceptance rate over 40% tells us we have attracted the right people to participate. We already look forward to the 2014 meeting in September!

-  We in the host organizations believe a meeting like this fulfills an unmet need to keep the Nordic life science growing and remain in the Nordic countries, says Jonas Ekstrand, CEO, SwedenBIO, proud host and producer of Nordic Life Science Days. We hope to attract other Nordic based organizations for the 2014 event.   @swedenbio   #nlsdays
