Kinetics on Cells - Bridging the Gap Between Biosensors and Cell-Based Assays

Jun 20, 2011 10:32 EDT Attana AB Two experiments with two distinct purposes were performed on the Attana Cell 200. The first experiment intended to find a diagnostic tool to test tumors after surgery to see if they are metastatic. The second experiment tested a herceptin conjugate designed for targeted immunotherapy. Both results showed that the Attana Cell 200 may help lowering clinical stage failure rates.

Evaluation of Novel Quartz Crystal Microbalance Based Technologies to Quantify Interactions of Biological Macromolecules with Cell-Bound Markers

Jun 08, 2011 09:24 EDT Attana AB Swiss Institute of Allergy and Asthma Research (SIAF): Currently we are using QCM to replace classical surface plasmon resonance experiments to quantify molecular interactions. We aim to establish this novel technology of measuring the interaction of biomolecules with molecules on entire cells, and to elucidate the binding properties of these interactions on defined systems.

Molecular Interaction Studies in Cells: Exploring Biology at a New Level

Jan 26, 2011 09:55 EST Attana AB The journal IPT features an article written by Attana's product manager where he discusses how to achieve biological relevance during research and the benefits of doing so. The article is also available online, see right for link.

Kinetics on Cells - Attana poster

Nov 10, 2010 10:39 EST Attana AB Kinetics on cells using the Attana Cell 200 biosensor - two application examples easily explained in Attana's new poster. Select the right candidate early by getting biologically relevant data from interactions directly on the cell surface.

Attana Application Note: Characterization of complex lectin-cell kinetics

Jun 23, 2010 10:54 EDT Attana AB The objective of this application note was to determine the binding properties of the lectin ConA towards human epidermoid carcinoma cells. Among other things it was found that a kinetic approach may be used to determine the apparent affinity and rate constants of lectin-cell glycan interactions, providing a greater understanding of the mechanism involved in the lectin recognition of cancer cells.

Attana Application Note: Early detection of clinical failure

Jun 16, 2010 10:40 EDT Attana AB The objective of this application note was to evaluate newly developed therapeutic antibodies in a biologically relevant context (cells) in order to detect failing candidates at an earlier stage. Among other things, it was found that real-time screening of drug candidates in a synthetic and in a cellular context together provides highly informative and biologically relevant data.

Attana Application Note: Glycosylation profile of cancer cells

Jun 09, 2010 10:03 EDT Attana AB The objective of this application note was to determine the glycosylation profile of cancer cells using a cell based QCM Biosensor assay. Among other things, it was found that a single surface can be used to perform lectin screening and to provide a highly relevant and reproducible determination of the glyco-profile of cancer cells.
