Alex Mccord & Simon Van Kempen Attend Fighting Leukemia With Fashion Event to Raise Funds & Hope For A Worthy Cause

New York, New York (June 27, 2011) – City Model and Talent, (http://www.citymodelandtalent.com), held their much-anticipated third annual “Fighting Leukemia With Fashion” event to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).  The event took place on June 23^rd 2011 at Lounge 404 NYC located at 404 10^th Avenue and West 33^rd Street and was a great success. In attendance were “Real Housewives of New York” stars Alex McCord and husband,  Simon Van Kempen.  The event included an open bar, exclusive and chic designer outfits, and featured an astounding live performance by Damien Richards & The D. Rich Project. 

Proceeds from the evening went to LLS, the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to increasing funds for lifesaving blood cancer research and providing free information and support services to those touched by cancer.  Funds from “Fighting Leukemia With Fashion” will help advance LLS’s mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

“Our Fighting Leukemia With Fashion event has grown year to year and that is truly exciting,” stated Jaqueline Krentzel-Miller, CEO of City Model and Talent. “Fashion is something that we live and breathe every day.  However we have the option of changing our outfits and changing our style.  The goal of this event is to bring that same hope to people living with Leukemia.  With everyone’s help, we can change their future and change the outcome of how the disease affects their lives.”

Up and coming designers featured at this year’s exclusive event included Kahri by KahriAnne Kerr, Ingrid Thelisme, and Brazilian Bezel Swimwear. The event was sponsored by Restaurant Lounge 404, Society Ties, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Young Professionals Volunteer Group, top NYC PR Firm Beautiful Planning Marketing & PR, Diageo, VLounge Video, Johnny Walker Black, Ketel One, Tanqueray, Jose Quervo, Captain Morgan, and DKMS. DKMS is an organization that is dedicating to saving lives by recruiting bone marrow donors for leukemia patients.  DKMS is the largest bone marrow donor center in the world, and has worked with “Fighting Leukemia With Fashion” in the past and has had much success in finding bone marrow donors through the popular event.
