Blueair Sense air purifier wins world’s most prestigious product design prize, the ‘red dot’ best-of-the-best award

Chicago March 12 – Blueair’s contemporary Sense air purifier has won global recognition for its outstanding design excellence by beating over 4,600 competitors to win a ‘red dot: best of the best’ award, reserved for only the very best products with genuinely groundbreaking design. The ‘red dot’ awards are one of the world’s most sought after design honors and serve as an internationally recognized quality label for brilliant design achievement.
The Sense, which harnesses radically different design, new technologies and eco-friendly materials, won the enthusiastic support of the 37-member jury of experts charged with selecting the ‘protagonists of a highly developed design culture and design industry’. Blueair’s Sense air purifier was one of just 58 products winning the sought-after ‘red dot: best of the best’, the highest award in the competition with just 1.2% of all entries considered worthy of the prize.
The ‘red dot’ awards, organized annually by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Germany, are considered the world’s most renowned product design competition recognizing outstanding product design and celebrating the team behind the concept.

Innovated with love in Sweden, Blueair Sense was designed by the globally acclaimed Claesson Koivisto Rune architectural and design agency in the Swedish capital Stockholm to deliver an out of the box experience beyond efficiently cleaning allergens, viruses and other airborne indoor pollution. They created a contemporary glass and steel design for the Sense, providing a warm, tactile and highly efficient air purifier that helps to ensure the air people breathe indoors is as pure as nature intended.
A unique interactive motion-sensitive glass top allows users to change speeds with simple hand swipes above the scratchproof surface. The Blueair air purifier employs a second generation HEPASilentPlus™ filtration system that removes germs, dust and smoke from the indoor air we breathe for enhanced health and wellbeing.
The ‘red dot’ award is the fourth major international design accolade since Sense was launched in mid-October 2012. Sense has already been honored by Japan’s Institute of Design Promotion, Sweden’s ‘Design S’ awards and the 2012 Good
Design Award from the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design.
