CraigMichaels Inc. is hosting its sixth annual Sustainable Operations Summit. The invitation-only event will feature keynote speakers David Suzuki, Cameron Sinclair, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., and Richard Greene.
This annual event brings together key leadership fromNorth America’s largest and most influential organizations to share best practices that benefit both the environment and the bottom line, with a focus on green building, renewable energy, and resource conservation.
The conference program features a speaker lineup representing both the private and public sectors, including David Bragdon, Director, Office of Long Term Planning and Sustainability for the City of New York; Kevin Surace, Chairman and CEO at Serious Materials; Don Moseley, Director of Sustainable Facilities at Walmart; Martin Chavez, Executive Director at ICLEI USA; and Tony Gale, Chief Architect at Starbucks Coffee Company.
This diverse group of speakers will tackle topics and issues regarding the reality of net zero building, building automation technologies, financing mechanisms for building retrofits, and creating a comprehensive climate action plan, among others.
Summitattendees are also privy to an exclusive sustainability tour of Caltech lead by Jim Cowell, Associate Vice President for Facilities. The tour includes a visit to the campus’ solar installations, a Bloom Energy fuel cell installation, and several LEED certified buildings. Tour participants will also get a sneak-peek inside the Ronald and Maxine Linde Center for Global Environmental Science, which when completed will be the first LEED Platinum rated lab in a historic building.
