They intend for the website to be appealing and informative to college students looking for information on how to reduce the high costs of college textbooks. Aetherlux: a design studio created a website that allows the viewer to flow easily through the site, while following topics that will be engaging.

The Orlando web design company worked closely with the owners of Dirt Cheap College textbooks to create a unique site. Aetherlux worked with dirt cheap college textbook's tight budget to create a site that effectively communicates their message while giving them a professional appearance. The design company took a minimalistic approach to the site that allowed them to stay within a small budget, yet provide a quality piece of work. With so much content on the internet, there can sometimes be an over stimulation, with too many distractions. A designer for Aetherlux said "With an minimalistic site, like Dirt Cheap (College Textbooks), the viewer can obtain the information without the distraction."

Aetherlux is currently still working on the logo design for the site, but they have introduced 'Bookie Wookie' a charter that appears throughout the site, a designer for Aetherlux said, "We created 'Bookie Wookie' as a way of connecting with the viewer, he's a monster that gobbles down textbook prices". Aehterlux works closely with the writers for Dirt Cheap College Textbooks, and usually create a unique image for each article. They most recently teamed up to complete a page that discussed websites that allow students to compare textbook prices it doesn't feature 'Bookie Wookie', but it does contain another unique image created specifically for Dirt Cheap College Textbooks.
