Villeroy & Boch's Winter Bakery collection again remains true to its roots in 2016 – with new articles and décors focusing on the theme of Christmas baking.
The Christmas look: three new motifs
Shooting stars, holly and a fir tree made of various festive biscuits: these are the three new décors that have been applied to numerous articles from Winter Bakery Delight. Thus the shooting star, introduced last year as a little biscuit trailing baked treats and sweets, now adorns a milk jug, a sugar bowl and a new rectangular cake plate.
The holly décor displays the classical Christmas colors of red and green and accentuates the rims of a new round cake plate and a number of tray stands. As well a tray stand consisting of two star-shaped dishes, there is also a mini two-tier tray stand and a little one formed like a footed bowl.
The fir tree décor features a fir tree made of Christmas cookies and can be found on a rectangular cake plate, a dish formed like a tree and a star-shaped dish, available in var-ious sizes. The star-shaped dishes are also available with Santa, Christmas tree and an-gel motifs.
Playful and enchanting: New decorative highlights
Matching decorative articles are supplied by Winter Bakery Decoration. New here are dishes shaped like trees and stars that are also appropriately decorated with either a Christmas tree or a star, and a little heart-shaped dish which features a rocking horse as its central motif. There is also a candle holder designed to resemble a little pile of three star-shaped cinnamon biscuits. Another candle holder has been created as a sledge, while tea-light holders display a rocking horse and a fir tree. The hanging decorations show three-dimensional versions of well-loved decorative motifs: a snowman, a bell, a Christmas tree, Santa, an angel and a star, all evocative of typical baked goods. A little tin for treats shaped like a gingerbread house completes the 2016 novelties.
All the Winter Bakery articles are manufactured from porcelain. They are decorated using lithographic techniques, some details are also hand-painted. The décor, which displays many variations of typical culinary Christmas treats, is designed in a strong red and radiant white, with fine touches of green, yellow and orange.
