McDonald's tests new technology in job interviews

McDonald's in Sweden will in spring and summer test what is probably the world's first job-box for job interviews. People who are interested in working at McDonald's can now search for jobs through video interviews directly at the restaurant without having to submit their CV and personal letter.

McDonald's in Sweden have been working with  ZeroLime's video interviews for recruitment for three years. Now they take another step in making the interview processes more flexible for both job seekers and recruiters. Applicants can now do the interview in a soundproof box at the restaurant. The five pre-programmed questions appear on the screen and the interview ends with a sixth question of how it felt to be video-interviewed. The job box will be tested for three months and then evaluated.

Here's how the job box works
The Job-box looks like a classic photo booth. In the job box there is a built-in iPad where candidates enter their contact information and then start the video interview. Each candidate receives about five questions to answer and which is recorded and directly sent to a recruter. The video will be deleted from the iPad as soon as the interview is complete. Candidates can also choose to make the interview from their own phone/tablet if they prefer that. The interview takes around 4-5 minutes. The job box is made by ZeroLime in collaboration with Framery.
