10 % increase in Stockholm: 1 million overnight stays in September
In September more than 1 million
overnight stays were made in Stockholm. It is a 10 % increase compared to the
same month last year. The first nine months surpass last year's result. More
than 9 million overnight stays were made in Stockholm County, which is a total
increase of 8 % and an All-time-high.
The increase in September came from both domestic (+10%) and international (+9 %) guests. There were substantial increases from most major markets in Europe and the rest of the world by respectively 9 and 13 percent. Germany (+15%), Great Britain (+6%), USA (+10%), Finland (+12%) and Spain (+26%).
Stockholm is the engine in Sweden’s tourism and one of Europe's top destinations. In 2013, Stockholm had 11 million bed nights.
