ARMEDANGELS is fighting for a world with a future

It is absolutely unacceptable that in 2021 there is still social inequality in the world. This must end. The largest European Eco & Fair fashion brand ARMEDANGELS started with sustainable charity T-Shirts 14 years ago and is now launching its Solidarity Series, an ongoing series of T-shirts to support important frontline activists.

“We didn’t set up ARMEDANGELS to make fashion. We set it up to make change for the planet and the people on it. To push what’s possible in sustainability, and create a catalyst for collective action.” Martin Höfeler, CEO & Founder ARMEDANGELS.

This first edition is a collaboration with US Activist, Tamika D Mallory, featuring the ‘Speech of a generation’ she gave after the killing of George Floyd. “The fight is not over, and it’s not okay to sit back,” says Mallory. With the first Solidarity T-Shirt ARMEDANGELS launches a campaign around March 13th, one year after Breonna Taylor’s death at the hands of police that brings together Black and Indigenous voices, expressions, and stories. 100% of the funds raised support Tamika’s social justice organization Until Freedom fighting against systemic racial injustice throughout America. But this first edition is not just about Breonna Taylor or George Floyd or any of the countless others who have died at the hands of the police in America. It’s about standing in solidarity against all black and indigenous suppression around the world.

Throughout the campaign content including interviews, performance and more will spotlight black and indigenous voices from around the world including New York activist and poet Mahogany Browne, Amazonian Forest protector Nemonte Nenquimo, Lagos performance artists Ebinum Brothers.

“The SOLIDARITY SERIES is a way for us all to come together to create real action against the most urgent and existential threats to life, wherever they are. That’s why we’re teaming up with the most important frontline activists on the planet. Whatever the direct threat to life: systemic racism, destruction of biodiversity, climate change or others. We must create new ways to collaborate. And we must think global because everything’s connected now more than ever. This is a fight for our future and together is the only way forward.” Martin Höfeler CEO & Founder ARMEDANGELS

UK artist and illustrator Sophy Hollington created the graphics using a LinoCut print technique. The bold designs appear on two T-shirts in men’s and women’s cuts and are available for €39.90 at ARMEDANGELS.com with 100% of funds raised supporting Tamika D. Mallory’s organization, Until Freedom.

ABOUT ARMEDANGELS

Since 2007 the Cologne label ARMEDANGELS has been proving that fashion can also be done differently: ECO & FAIR. No wage slavery, no chemical madness, no cheap mass goods. From the simple idea of printing on T-shirts and collecting donations for charity projects through sales, a company has grown that today is one of the largest ECO & FAIR fashion labels in Europe. With a 90-person team and four collections a year, ARMEDANGELS shows that sustainability and good product design are not mutually exclusive.
