Urban Future Launches “The CityChangers Podcast” to Inspire Urban Transformations

January 18, 2024 | Graz, Austria — Urban Future, a leader in creating events for more sustainable cities, is excited to announce the launch of its latest endeavor, "The CityChangers Podcast." This podcast is set to empower listeners with insights into creating more liveable, equitable and sustainable cities.

“The CityChangers Podcast” explores innovative ideas, showcases success stories (and, importantly, the failures), and delves into the strategies that contribute to positive urban transformations. Each episode features a new thought leader, expert, or visionary who shares their experiences and expertise in making cities better places to live, work, and thrive.

“With this podcast, we’re bringing to life stories that provide a fresh take on urban sustainability. Anyone with an interest in improving their city is going to want to regularly tune in,” says CityChangers writer and podcast narrator, Karl Dickinson.

To kick off the series, Urban Future has released two compelling episodes, providing listeners with a taste of the inspiring content to come. The first episode, “Rotterdam Rooftops,” focuses on how cities like Rotterdam are looking skywards for solutions to housing shortages, climate change and more.

The second episode, “The Slow Lane”, dives into how globally acclaimed author, entrepreneur, and advisor Sascha Haselmayer discovered over decades of experience that quick fixes often fail. Change-makers can’t afford to sacrifice inclusion, participation and sustainability for speed alone, because that’s arguably what got us here in the first place, with all the urgent challenges we face. Haselmayer offers his perspective for taking the slow lane to change, the lane that gets us to the right place faster.

Listeners can expect fresh and insightful content every second week, as Urban Future commits to a regular bi-weekly release schedule. "The CityChangers Podcast" can be accessed on CityChangers.org or on your favourite streaming platform. Subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.

“The CityChangers Podcast” is brought to you by Urban Future, a visionary company in the sustainability realm, established in the city of Graz, Austria in 2016. To date, it has united approximately 15,000 “CityChangers” worldwide with its international events, while fostering an online community of 50,000 enthusiasts. The next conference will be in Rotterdam from June 5-7, 2024.

“We’re thrilled to launch ‘The CityChangers Podcast’ and cannot wait to share the next episodes. They embody our commitment to shaping a future where cities are the epicenter of sustainable transformation,” says CEO and Co-Founder Gerald Babel-Sutter.

“Find inspiration in these CityChanger stories of success and failure and then let’s discuss in person at #UF24 in June! Join us in Rotterdam, a forward-thinking, vibrant city that is embracing change and continuously reinventing itself like no other city I know," Babel-Sutter added.
