    Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers in Copenhagen are pleased to offer a large private Russian art collection of high quality at this summer's international auction in Copenhagen (9 June 2017). The collection belonged to the Norwegian commercial attaché Richard Zeiner-Henriksen, who lived in Russia during the first half of the 1900s.

    Krøyer’s Final Masterpiece Sold for DKK 4.3 Million

    The first international auction at Bruun Rasmussen in Copenhagen was kicked off in style on Tuesday! A study for P.S. Krøyer’ final masterpiece, the iconic “Midsummer Eve Bonfire on Skagen Beach” (1903), was sold for DKK 4.3 million and a classic Danish Golden Age painting by C.V. Eckersberg from Rome (1819) was sold to the art museum ARoS for DKK 1.5 million.

    In a magnificent study for P.S. Krøyer’s final masterpiece, the artist's family and friends can be seen around the iconic Midsummer Eve bonfire on Skagen's beach, where sparks are flying and people’s faces are lit up by the bright summer night. The study is auctioned off at Bruun Rasmussen’s upcoming international auction on 28th February.

    It is not only artwork and Chinese vases that can surprise on the auction market! Yesterday the auction house Bruun Rasmussen sold decorative crafts in Copenhagen. Here a coffee service of silver, designed by the English designer Archibald Knox, took off during the bidding round and ended up with a hammer price of DKK 325,000 against an estimate of DKK 60 to 80,000.

    Utzon's Favourite Work by Le Corbusier Sets New World Record

    Tuesday evening the enamel "20 heures, arrivée à Chandigarh" by Swiss-French architect and artist Le Corbusier achieved an impressive hammer price of DKK 1.75 million (€ 234,000 including buyer’s premium), which is a doubling of the previous world record for an enamel by Le Corbusier set in Zurich in July 2016.
