The collection belonged to the Norwegian commercial attaché Richard Zeiner-Henriksen, who lived in Russia during the first half of the 1900s.
The first international auction at Bruun Rasmussen in Copenhagen was kicked off in style on Tuesday! A study for P.S. Krøyer’ final masterpiece, the iconic “Midsummer Eve Bonfire on Skagen Beach” (1903), was sold for DKK 4.3 million and a classic Danish Golden Age painting by C.V. Eckersberg from Rome (1819) was sold to the art museum ARoS for DKK 1.5 million.
