  • Utzon's Favourite Work by Le Corbusier Sets New World Record

    Tuesday evening the enamel "20 heures, arrivée à Chandigarh" by Swiss-French architect and artist Le Corbusier achieved an impressive hammer price of DKK 1.75 million (€ 234,000 including buyer’s premium), which is a doubling of the previous world record for an enamel by Le Corbusier set in Zurich in July 2016.

  • RECORD: Ming Vase Sold for DKK 15.6 million (€ 2.1)

    Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers of Fine Art has this afternoon broken its own auction record with the sale of a rare Ming vase from the 1400s. The vase was sold for an impressive DKK 15.6 million (€ 2.1 million including buyer’s premium) – the highest hammer price in the history of the auction house as well as the Danish auction record for an item of porcelain.

    Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers is pleased to announce that another important work by Le Corbusier from the private collection of the world-famous Danish architect Jørn Utzon will be auctioned off in the beginning of December. The work was made while Utzon and Corbusier collaborated on the interior of the Sydney Opera House during the 1950s.

  • World Record for Modern Art in Copenhagen

    There was a great demand for world-class modern art at the international auction at Bruun Rasmussen in Copenhagen, where a work by the Italian artist Paolo Scheggi was sold for DKK 2.5 million. Other surprises among the auction results include works by Fernand Léger, Jan Křížek and Tetsumi Kudo, as well as a world record on a painting by Alan Uglow.

    ​At this autumn's international design auction in Copenhagen, we can present the Danish cabinetmaker and designer Peder Moos' "Museum Table", which only exists in very few copies. It was commissioned by the Dane Gert Poulsen, who has also kept a unique series of letters from Moos, which were written during the production of the table.

  • Newly discovered work by Paolo Scheggi up for Auction

    A newly discovered work from the early 1960s by the Italian avant garde artist Paolo Scheggi (1940-71) has found its way to Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers of Fine Art and will be auctioned off in September 2016. The hitherto unknown work has been in a private Danish collection, and prior to the sale it has recently been registered with the Associazione Paolo Scheggi in Milan.

    Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers presents a beautiful bureau from c. 1780 at this autumn’s auction in Copenhagen. The bureau was made by the renowned cabinetmaker David Roentgen (1743-1807), who created exquisite furniture for some of the most famous royal figures in European history.
