Heralding a major breakthrough in industrial e-vehicle and e-vessel charging, global engineering group Cavotec has launched its ultra-fast Megawatt Charging System (MCS). Providing up to 3MW of power from a single connector, the MCS is a turnkey DC charging solution with grid-to-inlet functionality that supports the decarbonisation of industrial vehicles and ships.

Cavotec will support the decarbonisation at APM Terminals MedPort Tangier by providing its next generation vacuum mooring system MoorMaster NxG. The automated transhipment terminal is one of the most technologically advanced, safest, and efficient terminals in the world.
Cavotec has won a shore power order valued at EUR 15.7 million from a major global shipping line. Deliveries are scheduled to start in the fourth quarter of 2022 and continue throughout 2023 and 2024.
David Pagels, 54, has been appointed CEO of Cavotec SA. Pagels will assume the position as CEO of Cavotec during May 2022.
In a major development signalling Cavotec’s entry into industrial battery charging for heavy duty vehicles, Cavotec is to supply a proof-of-concept battery charging system for use with heavy-duty mining trucks. The customer has also signed a long-term service agreement for the operator’s existing MoorMaster vacuum mooring systems and e-vessel charging units.
