Electricity storage can play a crucial role in Mexico’s fulfilment of its climate goals, according to a new Danish-Mexican study
63 million tons. That is the amount of CO2 emissions that Mexico can cut per year in 2050 if the country achieves an optimal integration of large-scale electricity storage into the energy system. This is the conclusion in a brand new Danish-Mexican study. The reduction is equivalent to almost double the Danish CO2 emissions from energy consumption today.
Biomass analysis has been translated into English
The Danish Energy Agency published May 18th 2020 a Biomass analysis report concluding that biomass for energy in many cases is an advantage for the climate, e.g. when residues-based biomass replaces fossil fuels. However, in some cases, Danish consumption of biomass for energy can lead to global emissions of greenhouse gases. The report has now been translated into English.

Record-low coal consumption in 2019
Last year, Danish consumption of coal fell by almost 43%, and now accounts for just 5% of the observed energy consumption. Danish and Indonesian Ministers conclude that Indonesian regions can save both energy and money in the future
Danish-Indonesian energy cooperation ascertains how the provinces of North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, South Kalimantan and Riau can save up to 11.5 million tons CO2 by 2030. That is 75% of the annual CO2 emissions from the Danish transport sector in 2018.
Technology neutral tender 2019 determined
The technology neutral tender round for 2019 has now been determined and has resulted in a record low level of aid to onshore wind turbines and solar PV. The budget for the tender round was DKK 258 million (2019 prices) with a bid cap of 6 øre per kWh.
