Ratingen, Germany, 10 February 2025 — ASUS Republic of Gamers today announced ROG Strix XG27JCG— a 27-inch 5K monitor. Featuring a stunning 5K (5120 x 2880) Fast IPS display with 218ppi, blazing-fast 180Hz (OC) [1] refresh rate and 0.3ms gray-to-gray response time, the gaming-focused Strix XG27JCG delivers ultrasharp, immersive visuals that redefine gaming experiences. A Dual Mode feature allows gamers to effortlessly switch between breathtaking 5K@180Hz for cinematic immersion and QHD@330Hz visuals for lightning-fast, ultra-responsive gameplay. For ease of use, the monitor can be seamlessly controlled via the intuitive DisplayWidget Center app on macOS or Windows devices.
5K gaming
The 5120 x 2880 Fast IPS display boasts 218ppi, 180Hz (OC) refresh rate, and VESA DisplayHDR 600™ certification to deliver stunningly vibrant and supersharp 5K visuals. The Strix XG27JCG offers up to 77% more onscreen space than a standard 4K monitor of a similar size, providing a wider field of view for better in-game situational awareness plus more detailed visuals for greater gaming immersion.
Dual Mode
The ROG Strix 5K XG27JCG allows users to easily switch between breathtaking 5K@180Hz for immersive gaming and cinema-like entertainment or QHD@330Hz for ultra-responsive, blazing-fast gameplay. Both modes deliver swift 0.3ms gray-to-gray response time for flawless, smooth action. For esports scenarios, Dual Mode can be paired with the 24.5-inch aspect-ratio setting, creating an FHD display area that runs at up to 330Hz – perfect for competitive play.
Tear-free visuals
AMD FreeSync™ Premium and NVIDIA® G-SYNC® compatibility ensure tear-free visuals and deliver smooth, perfectly-synced imagery by enabling variable refresh rate (VRR) by default. In addition, Extreme Low Motion Blur Sync (ELMB Sync) technology prevents ghosting and further protects against tearing, while ASUS Variable Overdrive automatically adjusts settings for optimal performance at any frame rate.
In addition, integrated Extreme Low Motion Blur 2 (ELMB 2) technology features a new dual-backlight design with two LED strips and 10 backlight zones to deliver next-level motion clarity. Offering five different level settings, ELMB 2 effectively minimizes motion blur and ghosting. As a result, the Strix 5K XG27JCG offers and up to 65% brighter visuals[1]versus similar competitor technologies.
AI enhancements and DisplayWidget Center
The Strix 5K XG27JCG features AI enhancements including Dynamic Crosshair, Dynamic Shadow Boost, and AI Visual to help gamers get the most out of their game. Dynamic Crosshair provides gamers with an onscreen reticle that contrasts against the background for better targeting; Dynamic Shadow Boost brightens dark areas of the screen without overexposure; and AI Visual automatically adjusts display settings for optimal viewing experiences.
The intuitive DisplayWidget Center app allows users to easily customize monitor settings and tailor profiles for specific games with keyboard and mouse without touching the physical button. DisplayWidget Center works with both macOS and Windows, and it allows MacBook[2] users to adjust monitor brightness via the keyboard shortcut keys.
