Ratingen, Germany, October 8, 2026 — ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced that the ROG Rapture GT-BN98 quad-band WiFi 8 gaming router is now shipping, delivering ultra-high reliability and next-generation performance for demanding network environments. In today’s multi-device environments driven by gaming, streaming, and smart home usage, users need more than peak speed. They need stable, predictable, and efficient connectivity. The GT-BN98 delivers this through WiFi 8 technology, intelligent bandwidth optimization, and enhanced network visibility, ensuring consistent performance even under heavy loads.

WiFi 8 Ultra-High Reliability

The ROG Rapture GT-BN98 delivers up to 25,000Mbps of bandwidth and features advanced technologies such as new MCS rates, UEQM, and NPCA for improved throughput and coverage. Unlike previous WiFi generations focused on peak speed, WiFi 8 prioritizes ultra-high reliability by improving performance consistency across varying signal conditions. It reduces sudden speed drops and enhances stability in real-world environments, especially in multi-device and long-range scenarios. Users experience smoother and more stable connections across the entire home, with less performance fluctuation over distance. Whether gaming, streaming, or using IoT devices, connections remain consistent and reliable.

Adaptive Quality of Experience

Adaptive QoE dynamically allocates bandwidth based on real-time network conditions and application demands, optimizing traffic across gaming, streaming, and background tasks. Traditional Quality of Service relies on static rules, while adaptive QoE continuously adjusts in real time. This ensures that network resources are always allocated efficiently, even in highly congested or multi-tasking environments. Users enjoy smooth and uninterrupted performance, even when multiple high-bandwidth activities occur simultaneously. Gaming remains responsive while streaming and downloads can continue without disruption.

WiFi Insight

WiFi Insight is an interactive feature available through the ROG Rapture GT-BN98's web interface that continuously scans both WiFi and non-WiFi interference across all bands and provides clear, visualized reports on network health. It goes beyond basic channel scanning by enabling full-spectrum analysis, real-time channel switching, and 24-hour event tracking. This ASUS-exclusive feature provides deep visibility into hidden interference sources that are typically difficult to detect. By automating both detection and optimization, WiFi Insight ensures stable and efficient connections, even in congested environments where traditional routers may struggle. Users gain a clear, visualized understanding of their network conditions, making it easier to identify and resolve interference issues. With greater transparency and automated optimization, users can enjoy more stable connections and smoother performance across gaming, streaming, and everyday use.

GTNet

GTNet is a third-party service integrated into the ROG Rapture GT-BN98's web interface that analyzes real-time network conditions and dynamically routes traffic through the most reliable path to game servers, prioritizing lower latency over the shortest distance. Traditional routing selects the shortest path, which may not always deliver the best performance. GTNet intelligently evaluates latency and congestion to find the fastest route, improving overall connection quality. Gamers benefit from reduced latency, fewer lag spikes, and more stable connections, resulting in smoother and more competitive gaming experiences.

Extreme wired connectivity

Two 10G ports and four 2.5G ports provide the ROG Rapture GT-BN98 with high-speed wired connectivity, supporting advanced network configurations and bandwidth-intensive applications. As internet speeds and device demands increase, high-speed wired connectivity becomes essential. This configuration offers both flexibility and future-ready performance for modern networking setups.

ASUS AiProtection

Lastly, ASUS routers offer AiProtection with enhanced always-on security, featuring built-in ad and tracker blocking, malicious site filtering, and infected device blocking for safer browsing. These features provide continuous, real-time defenses across all connected devices. By automatically blocking threats and unwanted content at the network level, they help ensure a safer, more private, and worry-free online experience for everyday use.

Availability and pricing

The ROG Rapture GT-BN98 is now available in Germany, Austria and Switzerland at a recommended retail price of 960.95 EUR / CHF incl. VAT from specialist retailers and online shops.
